The mauby bark comes from a tree belonging to the Rhamnaceae family, which is abundant in many Caribbean islands.

The orange-brown bark is smooth on small trunks, but becomes fissured, splitting off the scales. The inner bark is light brown and bitter.

It aids in lowering blood pressure, helpful for arthritis pain, reduces cholesterol, treats diarrhea and may help fight diabetes.*

It is also used to make a delicious, refreshing ’Mauby Drink’

To make Mauby Concentrate:

Put 5-10pcs mauby bark in 4 cups of water with a pc of cinnamon sticks, few anise seeds and cloves. Boil for 5 minutes, cover & steep overnight.

To make drink:

Add 2 cups of water for every cup of concentrate, sweeten with sugar & drink.
